What is a Zero Downtime Upgrade? This is an upgrade where no matter from which version of VOS (CUCM, UNITY, and UCCX) you are coming from can be done with very little or zero downtime
The Reasoning behind Look I have always worked with companies that like their stuff done quickly, efficiently and with minimal downtime. I’m also very lazy, or very practical, so if I don’t have to spend all night doing an upgrade, I simply don’t do it. Now, like everything else, there are a lot of exceptions to the scenario I will be going over on this Post, so keep reading!
Before leaving my previous company there was an interesting trend in the market and industry I have worked for the past few years, and that is that multiple verticals out there are considering moving their traditional premises workloads to the cloud.
That is a beautiful thing, but from my standpoint as an Engineer/Architect, I’m thinking how I’m going to be able to get involved into it? - Smart conversations need to happen and well, I’m usually part of those conversations, or in the room when smart people talks about cloud :)
To better understand what are the domains that are part of CyberSecurity is better to identify them individually and make sure we all know what to expect to learn more and more about it.
Currently the Cybersecurity tracks, like Cisco’s, make emphasis on you preparing you to be a Security Analyst Level I - Remember that all the Associate certifications are the ones validates that you can be the first knowledgeable level of contact in the enterprise. In this case Cisco Cybersecurity Operations CCNA is not different.
I have recently started a class on CyberSecurity offered by Cisco, and have been hooked into the material and the things that this class offers.
If you know me, you will know that I have always been a hybrid engineer, I have done few things from Network, Security, Data Center and Collaboration. With the last one being what I specialize on and what I’d like to call the profession that pays my bills :)
Thinking on few things that can help people out there to begin or advance in a career in IT Security or Cybersecurity. I had to get some information about this from a Job description of what companies are looking for in candidates, just because, yeah Andres had to find out, and help the now growing audience of CyberSecEngineer

Call recording is an interesting topic for me and it’s sometimes hard to understand, but It’s easy when you break it down to get what it is all about.
My experience varies from different vendors and most of it comes to the same place, at least when preparing CUCM for Recording services. This post is just to go over what is involved form CUCM’s preparation and a bit of an explanation when possible :)
I’m pretty sure that there are many examples out there to create NetFlow configuration and very well documented as well, however, I wanted to give my config a crack and also wanted to share. I’m adding one more bit of information as it is very useful to keep your network on-check, and that is the NBAR addition.
Which Direction for NetFlow? I have read somewhere, and I refuse to look for the document again, thinking it was from Lancope’s website, but I remember reading that NetFlow works better if applied in only one direction. Pretty sure that many people out there will have their opinions and reasons to do it in very different directions on the same interface, but after lots of thinking, it made sense to me.
I finished last year with an incomplete challenge and lots of things in my to-do list. This exam was one of them, so I ended up moving lots of my objectives to 2018
I presented this exam at the beginning of November-17 and failed with few or a lot of incorrect questions. It really took me by surprise some of the things that I thought I knew needed more re-enforcing on my end. It is also very important to understand that these exams are also created with technology in mind, and many of them get to be un-updated for a while, so I was also tested on things that are End of Life (which I think got the best of me)
