Launching it-learn.io Welcome to the first and official post for it-learn.io - This post is just the vision of this site and what the creators (me) are looking to accomplish.
I’m thrilled you are here; as you may see previous posts you have read before from me(Andres Sarmiento), some posts from 2014 until 2020. After giving it a lot of thought, I decided to consolidate my previous collabengineer.com and cybersecengineer.com sites into one that makes sense and covers pretty much all areas of Technology.
My blogging game has been off for the last few months ((https://cybersecengineer.com)), and that is ok, but as schools start today in my neck of the woods, I just could not resist and write this short post with my opinion.
A story of Broward Public Schools - Microsoft Teams Prime-Time Today my kids started virtual classes and to my surprise I noticed that they are using MS Teams to get connected, meet and collaborate. I have to be honest, I did not think MS Teams was ready for meetings and collaboration, event tough I have been forced to use it at work, because all my team mates are using it.
Few weeks have gone by and I have not written anything for a while **But I still have lots of Drafts in the works. Job has been a bit busy this time of the year so that’s my excuse and I will stick to it :)
If you are a UC and Collaboration engineer, you may have under your sleeve few cool solutions to backup your Apps. Well, I have a few too, and I used to crash a lot with the FREE SolarWinds app. But for some reason, this app sometimes fails.
In case you are hit with this bug the solution is very simple, but asks the question, is it really necessary creating the UserID in AD with a combination of UPPER CASE and lower case?
Here is the Scenario CUCM implementation of 11.5(1) with AD/LDAP authentication, once users are synced with LDAP you proceed to assign Power Users under End User Administration. All is fine but such users have their user ID as follows: AD UserID: WUser
Quick video warming up, ready to finish the UCCX series video on 10.6 - so I needed a way to test calling from my home phone to my lab
The Video The Content Just basic troubleshooting of a call from UC520 to CUCM using SIP protocol
What to look forward to? Not much really on this one, just getting ready to additional videos and testing - enjoy!

So, the question is, what is a better choice to get started with a Lab, and begin creating your own configurations? - Here is a list of the benefits from a Cloud Vs Home Lab
The difference between a Cloud lab and a Home lab Cloud Lab (dCLoud and DevNet) If you are one of those weird people that don’t want to run CUCM, UNITY Connection, IM & Presence, Jabber and other UC apps in your house, you are in luck. Cisco dCloud + Devnet Sandboxes are what you are in the business for.
Building a Collaboration lab is a big decision and cost could be keeping you from getting started. Recently I received a request from a friend on FB about how to get started.
Well, there are many options and many questions, one of the questions is the licensing piece. Cisco licensing is expensive if you plan to go crazy (like me) and have your home using all the goodies you already use at work.
A nice email with this information may have gotten to your Mailbox today. The email opens up a new methodology called agile, wich will be used going forward.
What do these changes mean? For what I read so far and what I have been able to research, means that there will be minor revisions every year, these revisions will bring at least 20% of changes with what you are being asked in the test. Also, there will be major changes to blueprints and actual exams every 3 to 5 years, such changes should reflect between a 50% to an 80%

What to look forward to? I’m having too much fun with these videos and I think I will keep on doing them, of course, as time permits
